MINUTES FROM THE EXTRAORDINARY MEETING OF 'ECO HVAR' held on 22nd February 2019 in the Café Splendid in Jelsa

Present: Vivian Grisogono, Debhora Bunčuga, Marija Bunčuga, Izudin Gračić, Chris Edwardes

Apologies for absence: Nada Kozulić (who gave a Power of Attorney for voting to Charity President Vivian Grisogono), Raffaella Catani, Mirko Crčević, Anita Drinković, Peter Elborn, PericaMileta, Vilma Plazonja, Lana Zake.

The meeting commenced at 18:30

AGENDA

  1. Opening of meeting, confirmation of members present, election of meeting secretary.

  2. President's recommendation that Mrs. Marija Bunčuga should be authorized to represent the Charity and be added as a signatory for the Charity's financial transactions.

  3. Any other business.

1) The Charity's President Vivian Grisogono confirmed that enough voting members were present to pass valid resolutions. Debora Bunčuga was appointed Meeting Secretary.

2) Vivian Grisogono recommended that Mrs. Marija Bunčuga should be authorized to represent the Charity and to sign financial documents. The Charity's bank account requires two signatures for financial transactions. Marija Bunčuga would be added to the three other authorized representatives to help ensure that two signatories would be always on hand when needed.

THE RECOMMENDATION WAS ACCEPTED, nem con.

3)  The President informally described the preliminary results from the Charity's Survey regarding land use in the Stari Grad Plain, which was launched in 2018. The Survey is ongoing, and the results are being published on the Eco Hvar website. The ongoing research into the Pest Control Programme practices was also described, showing the results obtained from Hvar Town, Stari Grad and Jelsa Council under the Freedom of Information regulations. It is clear that there is an urgent need to change the practices to safeguard human and environmental health.

Mr. Chris Edwardes described the project for sterilizing cats in Stari Grad, which he and his wife Amanda Blanch have initiated, with support from Vet Dr Prosper Vlahović and Mayor Antonio Škarpa. To date some 30 cats have beensterilzed successfully, and the programme is being continued. Mr. Edwardes experssed the wish to increase the help being given to stray cats to other places. All those present agreed that there is an urgent need to help the cats over the whole island.

At the end of the discussion, Vivian Grisogono thanked those present, and closed the meeting at 20.00.
