Topics covered included marketing, protection of product title and detailed expositions of cultivating medicinal plants commercially. The workshops included two two-day field trips to Hercegovina, with delegates' expenses paid. The workshops were funded by the European Union and organized by the organizations 'Dalmatica Viva' and 'Institut za jadranske kulture i melioraciju krša, Split' in conjunction with Jelsa Council. Separate from the workshops was a lecture on organic farming by Ana Marušić Lisac of Biotechnicon which highlighted the potential of organic farming on Hvar as a more profitable enterprise than conventional farming using chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
