There was one Mass led by Hvar's Bishop Slobodan Štambuk on Friday March 8th, and another by Split-Dalmatia's Archbishop Marin Barišić on Sunday March 10th. The outdoor Mass in front of Vrboska's fortified Church of St.Mary, concelebrated by Msgr Barišić with Bishop Štambuk and most of the island's priests, culminated in a procession around Vrboska which finished in the parish Church of St. Lawrence.

The celebrations also included presentations about the history of the Weeping Cross and its significance for Vrboska on Saturday March 9th. The talks were interspersed with harmony singing by Vrboska's Klapa Kaštilac.
